ABOUT
As an artist, I thrive in all things creative, including painting, photography, graphic and interior design. I've had my hand in creative projects all my life, but above all else, painting has always defined who I am. It’s the common thread throughout all my life endeavors, the lens through which I view the world, and what truly fills me with purpose.
My current work explores the idea that our past, present, and future selves all coexist at once. Each bears witness to the others, each autonomous but connected. No self is lost or forgotten. As we process and heal trauma, we enter liminal spaces of transition between who we were and who we are becoming. My paintings explore these moments, where we pause, reflect, heal, and expand—drifting between the different versions of ourselves as they shape one another through presence and memory. Each painting is a reflection on that continual process of becoming—an invitation to embrace the layers of our lived experience and the promise of expanding into someone new.
I call my work abstract elemental. Using acrylic ink on raw canvas, I paint large, overlapping translucent fields of color that create quiet, atmospheric experiences. It was ultimately born from healing my childhood trauma, and heavily influenced by my love of midcentury aesthetics, Mark Rothko, and decades of graphic design work. When I paint, I embrace restraint, draw on the philosophy of wabi-sabi, and trust my intuition. At the foundation of each painting is the relationship, emotion, and atmosphere between the shapes (selves), inviting the viewer to slow down, absorb the layers, and discover something of their own within them.
